How every Hurricane Deployer contest works

• One entry per storm chaser per storm, enforced by storm pass and device signature.
• An entry consists of a drawn track (3-20 waypoints) plus a peak intensity call on the Saffir-Simpson scale.
• Once deployed, an entry is permanently locked - it cannot be edited, replaced, or deleted.
• Your entry is your call. No copying the crowd after submissions close.

• Path submissions are due 24 hours after the storm is officially named a tropical storm by the National Hurricane Center. The exact deadline for each project is published on its contest page the moment the declaration time is set.
• Tracking stops at whichever comes first: the moment the storm is no longer at tropical storm strength, or the time the National Hurricane Center stops carrying the system as a tropical cyclone (dissipation, post-tropical, or remnant low). Only official track positions up to that cutoff are used for the best-fit calculation.
• If a storm never reaches tropical storm strength, the cutoff falls back to the NHC end-of-advisory time, and the administrator publishes the cutoff used before scoring runs.

When a project's cutoff deadline arrives, the contest is archived. Archived projects keep their locked entries, official track and final results as a permanent record, but live figures are frozen - stats show placeholders, and the homepage points to coming soon for the next hurricane. Every storm gets a ticker; the next one is always forming.

The closest prediction wins 90% of the creator rewards generated by that project's token. Because rewards accrue with trading volume, the live prize pool shown on each contest is an estimate - the final pool is confirmed by the administrator at the moment scoring is published.

• Every entry must include a Solana payout wallet at the time it is locked. A wallet cannot be added or changed afterwards.
• That wallet must hold the contest token, and the buy transaction must have settled on chain before submissions lock for that storm. Buying after the lock does not count.
• Holdings are verified on chain against the payout wallet before the prize is released. Wallets that show no qualifying purchase before the lock fail the check.
• If the closest entry fails the check, whether the wallet is missing, invalid, or holds nothing bought before the lock, the prize moves to the next closest eligible entry, and so on down the standings until a payable entry is found. Skipped entries keep their published rank; they simply do not receive the payout.

Predictions are ranked by average track error against the official published track, with peak intensity used as the tiebreaker. Full method on the scoring page.

• Multiple entries, automated submissions, and attempts to evade the one-entry limit result in disqualification of all associated entries.
• Rate limiting and abuse review apply to every submission.
• Handles that are abusive or impersonating may be removed or anonymized.
• Administrator decisions on disqualification and scoring are final.
